Have you had a chance to enjoy our Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band this season, either at a football game or at a public event, such as the recent West Chester Halloween Parade? If not, you don’t know what you’re missing. Under the leadership of Andrew Yozviak, the marching band is bigger and better than ever. Recently, Andy allowed me to shadow him at band practice so I could get a better sense of his day-to-day job responsibilities. (Even better, he let me direct the band.)

| Homecoming 2017: Winning! |
The Golden Rams brought it at Saturday’s Homecoming football game, beating ESU 31-26, which was just one of the many highlights of a beautiful autumn day. What a Gold Rush!
With a glint in his eye, Rammy debuted a new look at the end of the annual Homecoming parade. He rocks sporty sneakers, a new T-shirt, a tuft of brown hair, and his horns are now tipped in gold! A big hit, the handsome mascot posed for many photos with alumni, students, and the local community during Homecoming festivities.

| Alumni Spotlight |
The Alumni Office recently caught up with WCU alumna Lauren Deacon! Lauren, a member of the Class of 2012, received her degree in Communication Studies. During her time at West Chester, Lauren was involved in PRSSA and the Student Activities Council. Her fiancé Constantine Giannaris '12 is also a WCU alumnus currently working as a Corporate Accountant at The Chemours Company in Wilmington, DE.
Lauren began working at the WCU Foundation in November 2013 as the Annual Fund Assistant. Since then she has grown to the Assistant Director of Development for Scholarships, and most recently accepting the position of Director for Annual Giving. She has said that working at the WCU Foundation allows her the opportunity to give back to WCU on a daily basis. Working with students and other alumni is the highlight of her job.
Lauren currently resides in Landenberg, PA where you will find her and Constantine rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles and planning their wedding! Lauren is also taking classes at WCU to obtain her Masters. We are so proud of all your success Lauren! |
