Rams Up My Fellow Alum!

While changes are happening on our beloved WCU campus with the construction and renovation of new and existing buildings, the same changes are also occurring within the WCUAA. We are excited as an Association to pass those changes onto you as we continue to focus on presenting inclusive programming that appeal to all WCU Alumni, opportunities for you to reconnect with your fellow alums and for you to connect with us.

For many of us, West Chester was our first “home away from home”. Some came in as wide-eyed freshmen with hopes and dreams of a bright future. (I was one of them). Others came in from other institutions looking for a fresh start. At the end of the day, we all made the choice to make West Chester our home. While we were coming of age at WCU, we formed life-long friendships, experienced heartbreaks and overcame obstacles. We learned independency and at the same time learned how to lean on our friends. Each of us learned valuable lessons both inside and outside of the classrooms that molded us into the amazing alums we are today!

Those lessons are some of the reasons I chose to come back home to West Chester and become a part of the WCUAA. It is an honor for me to represent my fellow alumni and participate in this historic narrative of change.  So, my fellow alums, won’t you join me? Come back home to West Chester. We welcome you to support the Alumni Association by attending the various events throughout the year. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our volunteer page for more information on how you can get involved.

Lastly, I believe this is going to be a year for the books, due to the challenging work of the West Chester University Alumni Association Board of Directors, committee volunteers, the Director of Alumni Relations (Jenna Birch ’06), Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement (Brigid Gallagher ’12), and Assistant Director of Alumni Relations (Chantal Whitehead-Scott '08), and you!

The Board of Directors thanks you for your ongoing support and I look forward to seeing you at Alumni Weekend, which will take place April 24-26, 2020!

Go Rams!
