Welcome Home,
Golden Rams Alumni

Greetings WCU Alumni,

I wanted to reach out to all of you during this ever-changing reality that has literally shifted the entire world’s way of life.

Right now, we are all in a state of flux, not knowing what is going to happen hour by hour; however, one thing we must do is remain calm and constant. This semester, our students have had to move rapidly from the face-to-face classroom to the virtual classroom and, understandably, some are feeling anxiety and concern. It’s uncertain when events that students have been looking forward to their entire WCU career (Commencement, Kente Ceremony, etc.) will occur due to the spread of this highly contagious virus.

The WCUAA, too, has gone through changes. Our events and celebrations have been postponed and we, too, have been in a state of uncertainty. But, as I mentioned before, we must remain calm and constant. The word “calm” is defined as “not showing or feeling nervousness, anger, or other strong emotions.” Some of its synonyms are “cool headed, cool, calm and collected.” The word “constant” is defined as “occurring continuously over a period of time” with synonyms that include “continual, continuous, persistent, sustained, abiding, round-the-clock, ceaseless, never ending.” During this difficult time, the news of who is infected by COVID-19 and where that person resides is constantly changing, but I am asking you all to remain calm. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Be constant in taking the necessary precautions that you feel are best for you and your family.

Lastly, I don’t know when events will resume for the Alumni Association or for the University. However, one thing I do know: We are representatives of the West Chester University Alumni Association, a community of alums unified in the mission to support, advocate for, and represent West Chester University.
Thank you all for allowing me to be your president. You and your families are in our prayers!
